TXSG After Action Report 2007
To:       AMRG Personnel

From: Pete Forsberg, LTC (TX)
            Commander, AMRG

Date: 5 May 2007

Subject:  AMRG May Activities

1.  MSG Robinson at the Corpus Christi NG Armory requested TXSG Med Bde help. The TXNG unit in Brenham is preparing for annual training and must have a medical review. I will be doing the medical review of their personnel.

2.      We were scheduled for a regular AMRG Drill on 19 May 2007.  I have received emails from many of our key personnel who will be unable to attend because of graduations from school and other family and work related events that they are obligated to attend. As a result, I am changing the training schedule.  There will not be a regular AMRG meeting on 19 May 07.  All personnel are encouraged to review the personal training materials on the website (www.alamogroup.net).  We will resume regular meetings again in June 2007.

3. The AMRG has received a request from the 1st Civil Affairs Regiment, Quick Reaction Team, TXSG to provide medical coverage to a weapons range on 19 May 2007.  The range (a civilian range) is Blackhawk Shooting Range, Phone 210-622-5405. Address: 12135 Jarratt Rd Atascosa, TX 78002.  I am looking for physicians, nurses, EMTs, and paramedics to volunteer to cover this range. Safety is the key to this mission.  We must insure our personnel are not exposed to actions on an active fire line.  Any response to injury can only occur after the range is made safe.  The OIC for your medical team is LTC Morale, MD.  I must verify current status of licensure for every professional individual who will staff this mission and also and define the limits of care that we can provide both based on licensure and available equipment.  A revised training plan to include this activity will be signed and filed with the G3.  AMRG personnel who will be attending must report to LTC Morale at the Blackhawk Range in Atascosa County by 0745 hrs.  Uniforms will be ACU with Patrol Cap. Personnel must bring their own ear and eye protection, water and lunch meal.
The Link to Blackhawk Range map is as follows:  http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?latlongtype=internal&addtohistory=&latitude=dXKbDKrHyGl0kfVnOBg1Sg%3d%3d&longitude=YoErWXtqqTMr59KnylknNg%3d%3d&name=Blackhawk%20Shooting%20Range&country=US&address=12135%20Jarratt%20Rd&city=Atascosa&state=TX&zipcode=78002&phone=210%2d622%2d5405&spurl=0&&q=Blackhawk%20Gun%20Range&qc=Rifle%20%26%20Pistol%20Ranges

4.  Mrs. Scantlin is heading up a family services effort for the Med Bde and has been communicating with Cappy Rodriguez (MG Rodriguez's wife) on the AGs larger family efforts. One of the items discussed is having a family day (BBQ, balloons for the kids, baseball, etc) in three regions San Antonio/Houston/Dallas to get started. Jennifer Jorrie has agreed to help lead the San Antonio family day. We need a small committee of about 4-6 persons working this event to spread the work as most everyone has a day job. The San Antonio Family Day events (which will include TXSG units from Corpus Christi and Laredo) will be held on Saturday, 23 June 2007 at 1000 hrs to 1400 hrs, at Brackenridge Park in San Antonio.  Details need to be worked out for food.  Games etc are planned.  Interested persons please contact me and we will create a committee to assist with the activity.  The Family Fun Day will take the place of our regularly scheduled drill.

5.                  The revised date for the Regional Interoperability Communications Exercise.  The new date is May 31-June 1.   The exercise will be conducted in Comal County.  More information as to the location, staging area and scenario will be provided during the Table Top Exercise. The tabletop exercise will be held at the Region 20 Service Center.  Directions to the location and a map can be found on the registration page. The tabletop exercise is an important step in preparing for the Regional Interoperable Communications exercise scheduled for May 31-June 1, 2007.  If anyone from the AMRG wishes to attend this exercise, please contact me.

7.                  The Texas Hurricane Conference in Galveston TX Sponsored by Governor's Office of Emergency Management is scheduled for 8-10 May 2007 (Tuesday-Friday) More Info -> http://www.txdps. state.tx. us/dem/pages/ hurricaneconfere nce.htm

8.         Please contact me if you wish to participate in any of these events/missions.
